THE DEATH OF ZAHARCHENKO AND THE MINSK AGREEMENT

At the upcoming meeting of the Trilateral contact group in Minsk, Russia will demand an investigation into the death of Alexander Zakharchenko in Donetsk. This was stated by the press Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation at the Minsk talks Boris Gryzlov. “At the meeting of the contact group, we will raise the issue of an international investigation into the murder of the DPR leader Alexander Zakharchenko,” he said. “I believe that this investigation should be as open and objective as possible, involving all participants in the Minsk process.” He drew the attention of journalists to the fact that the Minsk agreements of February 12, 2015 is signed by Zakharchenko and this document was approved by the UN security Council. In addition, the OSCE is represented in the conflict”, – said Gryzlov.
Ready to help in the investigation of the murder of the head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko and the Federal security service of Russia. “Specialists are already working there, “said Sergey Beseda, head of the service of operational information and international relations of the FSB, to Interfax news Agency.
The readiness of Italy to join the investigation into the murder of Zakharchenko said the Italian Ambassador to Russia Pasquale Terraciano. “What happened in Donetsk causes us regret. If the EU decides to investigate the incident, Italy, of course, will join. However, Italy is the President of the OSCE, and perhaps the OSCE is an organization that can do more to help establish the truth, ” the diplomat said.
Only Ukraine has not shown any desire to take part in the investigation of the terrorist act in Donetsk. The Vice-speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament and the representative of Ukraine at the talks in Minsk laid the responsibility for informing Kiev about the investigation exclusively on the OSCE.
Moscow also made a statement of Russia’s commitment to the Minsk agreements. “Russia has been and remains a country that has always said that it is Kiev that hinders the implementation of these agreements. After the terrorist attack, it is probably difficult to talk about anything with the Ukrainian side. But once again – this does not mean that Russia is out of the Minsk process,” – said the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov.
Berlin condemns any use of violence, said German government spokesman Steffen Seibert, commenting on the murder of the leader of the self-proclaimed Donetsk people’s Republic.
“The German government, Chancellor, Minister of foreign Affairs will also continue to participate in the peace process. The murder of Mr. Zakharchenko does not make efforts to implement the Minsk agreements less important, ” said Seibert.
Kiev didn’t say a word.
