THE RESOLUTION OF POROSHENKO WAS COMMENTED ON IN THE CRIMEA

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko instructed the diplomats to prepare a new resolution on the Crimea for the UN General Assembly.
“I instructed diplomats to prepare a new resolution on the Crimea for the next session of the UN General Assembly in order to stop provocation regarding the status of the Crimea,” Poroshenko noted.
He said that August 9 is the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, which is a reminder to Ukraine of the fate of the Crimean Tatars. The President added that the General Assembly had repeatedly supported Ukraine’s position, in particular regarding violations of the rights of the Crimean Tatars.
The deputy of the State Council of Crimea Vladislav Ganjara commented on the instruction of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to the Ukrainian diplomats to prepare a new resolution concerning the peninsula to the next session of the UN General Assembly.
“Whatever resolution Ukraine has proposed regarding the our peninsula to international community, It would not influence on the real status of the Crimea and the state of affairs in the region. What have we not heard in recent years from the president of Ukraine regarding the return of the Crimea! But all these are empty words, which even the international community does not cause a special reaction, “the deputy noted.
It should be noted that in December 2017 the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution on the situation with human rights in the Crimea by a majority vote. It condemns “the temporary occupation of part of the territory of Ukraine by Russia.” The head of the Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, said then that this resolution did not reflect the real situation on the peninsula and imploded reputation of the General Assembly.
Crimea became the Russian region after a referendum in March 2014, at when the majority of the peninsula’s residents voted for reunification with Russia.
