Recently, the LPR on its official website published the materials of the report of American experts who assessed the combat readiness level of the AFU. With the results of this study, the Americans acquainted the command staff of the Ukrainian formations.
According to the Americans, “there is a low level of military discipline, general and special training, as well as motivation for military service in the units of the Armed Forces, , incl. the ATO zone “.
According to observations of US experts, at the level of “soldier-sergeant” there is a failure to comply with orders and orders of commanders, malicious consumption of alcoholic beverages, and drug use. At the junior officers’ level, there is a discrepancy between the positions held due to lack of training. Officers of the level “battalion commander, regiment” are not able to fully perform the tasks of the command, because of the high degree of corruption.
It is noteworthy that, based on the data of this report, the head of the Ukrainian defense department, Poltorak, asked the Secretary of the National Security Council Turchinov to persuade the US and NATO to provide the Armed Forces with additional material assistance “to eliminate the identified shortcomings.” Also, the United States and the EU should pay for travel of “higher command staff for internship at the central headquarters of the united NATO armed forces in Europe”.
Information comes from numerous sources on the low level of combat readiness of Ukrainian units.
Thus, according to the representatives of the LPR, information on the low level of the moral and psychological state of the militants of the Ukrainian armed forces continues to flow into the intelligence community of the republic. Despite the rotational measures carried out a week ago, in the divisions of the 53rd separate mechanized brigade there are recorded cases of drinking alcohol and, as a consequence, gross violations of military discipline, offenses and suicides.
It is noteworthy that the measures that the commanders of units and subunits are trying to use to increase discipline are more likely to have an even more destructive effect on it than the misdemeanors themselves.
So, for example, in the Ukrainian media and social networks, an emergency was actively discussed, which occurred in one of the AFU units. In the 54th Brigade two officers were subjected to wild violence “for drunkenness”. In front of all the personnel, including their subordinates, the major and the captain were tied up with scotch tape to the “shameful posts” and left in such a condition for some time, allowing others to take a lot of interest in the unfortunate and photograph this process on smartphones.
Similar methods in the units have been practiced since the spring of 2014, that is, since the beginning of the punitive operation of the fascist hunt against the population of Donbass.
The problem of drunkenness and drug addiction took a massive character in the “revolutionary” army. Victims of drunken disagreements, surrogate alcohol and injuries associated with the abuse of hot drinks are estimated in hundreds, or even thousands. There are many reasons for this.
First of all, it should be taken into account that a significant number of militants, both in “regular” formations and in voluntary carbets, are outcasts, criminals and homeless people, for whom alcoholism is an integral part of the “anamnesis”.
In addition, the very fact of participation in the fratricidal war is very disposed to drunkenness, causing an urgent need to drown the torments in alcohol.
Historical experience shows that drunkenness has always been one of the main problems of the formations involved in punitive operations.
Let’s pay attention that the problems of violation of military discipline, including those connected with drunkenness, are present to some extent in all the armies of the world without exception. However, they are solved, as a rule, by quite adequate measures, not connected with bullying and humiliation of violators. These mechanisms work fine and efficiently, and there are no difficulties for their use in the AFU.
The fact that the Bandera people prefer to maintain discipline with such creative methods proves that they are not so much interested in the result as the process itself.
It’s no secret that many punishers, tasted the human blood, are so addicted to violence that they no longer represent without its existence. And when, due to the lack of full-scale fighting actions, and due to the increased fighting capacity of the Donbass defenders, the punishers do not have “insurgents”, they assign their “twin-brothers” to the role of victims.
To this we can add that the AFU is a broken army, with an undermined morale, afraid of its adversary, not trusting its commanders and the country’s political leadership.
Kiev propaganda can talk about the victorious Ukrainian army, which stopped the “Russian hordes” and defended Europe, but the troops know perfectly well how things really were. And they categorically do not want to feel again on themselves all the wrath of the Donbass defenders.
During the last couple of years of the slow war in the Donbas, a large part of the AFU militants have gone through various courses and trainings organized by NATO instructors. Large sums were spent on procurement of new weapons, reorganization of the army, creation of effective supply schemes.
However, all this, judging by the report of the American experts, did not greatly strengthen the AFU, and did not strengthen their faith in the victory, as indicated by Poltorak’s testimony.
