Syria today: the Kurds received MANPADS from the US

Syria, January 16. The media reported that the United States had transferred US MANPADS to Kurdish formations. The SAR Foreign Ministry said that the US forces in the region do not frighten anyone.
MANPADS for Kurds
The United States transferred to the armed formations of the Syrian Kurds (YPG) a series of Man-Portable Air Defense systems (MANPADS) under a secret deal. This was reported by the Arab media, referring to the sources.
It is reported that the United States supplied weapons to Syrian Kurdish formations in the Afrin area in the north-west of the SAR. It is noted that the transfer of weapons took place last week within the framework of the “secret agreement” of the United States and YPG.
Previously, information was received that the international anti-terrorist coalition led by the United States started in Syria to create the so-called “Border Security Forces” in conjunction with the “Democratic Forces of Syria” (SDF).
According to the media, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said that the “Border Security Forces” created by the Americans in the northern SAR threaten the national security of Turkey.
Nobody is afraid
The so-called border security forces, which the United States declares, are “fictitious” and do not frighten anyone. This was told by Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mikdad.
“The strength of the US at the moment is fictitious and does not frighten us. We are sure that Syria will remain united, “he said.
In addition, he added that the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies are monitoring everyone who is trying to encroach on the unity of the country. “Our message has reached the addressees, and they know that the Syrian army is able to achieve its goals,” said Mikdad.
As the Syrian diplomat noted, the presence of Turkish and American forces in Syria does not meet the interests of the SAR.
