Georgian Department of Defence begins cooperation with British Army Military Inspectorate

The Delegation of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland headed by the Deputy Chief of the General Inspection Colonel Barry Green pays visit to Georgia. The aim of the visit is sharing expertise of the UK Military Inspectorate with the Georgian Department of Defence and discussing future cooperation prospects.

In the framework of an official visit to Georgia, the UK delegation members met with Deputy Minister of Defence Levan Girsiashvili and Head of the Combat Readiness Monitoring Department of the General Staff COL Nikoloz Janjgava. The British visitors also visited NATO Liaison Office.

Today Georgian Department of Defence and British Army Military Inspectorate concluded Memorandum of Cooperation. From the Georgian side Deputy Chief of the General Staff COL Giorgi Kbiltsetskhlashvili signed the document.

Under the Memorandum the aspects of bilateral cooperation between the UK Military Inspectorate and the GS Combat Readiness Monitoring Department were defined. The cooperation involves improving professional skills and capabilities, mentoring and supporting specific events, exchanging policy experience, procedures and documentation as well as participating in British training programs.
