Ex-CIA officer, spoke about U.S. policy in Syria

The US maintain a military presence in Syria and continue to provide military support for the Kurds, despite statements about its termination, stated a former CIA officer Philip Giraldi.
“The US presence in Syria continues. The Turks say that there is 13 US bases the country now, some of which, apparently, permanent”, — he said.
According to Giraldi, the US presence in the region will allow Americans “to attend any talks that will take place in order to put an end to the civil war.”
“They (the States) will seek to find other ways to continue to arm and fund the Kurds, without madden the Turks,” added Giraldo.
On Friday, the President of the United States Donald Trump held a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Tayyip Erdogan. According to the White House, the American leader briefed on the military support from its partners in Syria.
In its turn, Turkish foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on Friday said that Trump has assured Erdogan that he gave the instruction to stop the supply of American weapons to the self-defense forces of Syrian Kurds, which Ankara considers as terrorist organization, associated with the outlawed Turkey Kurdistan workers ‘ party.
