About a hundred Georgian militaries are fighting on the side of the Ukrainian Security Forces, said General Georgiy Kalandadze during the live broadcast from Kiev.
“The number of Georgia citizens is constantly changing, but in general about a hundred Georgian militaries take part in the combat actions,” – said Kalandadze in the interview to the TV company “Rustavi 2” on Tuesday night.
Earlier Georgian Minister of Justice Thea Tsulukiani stated that a new article is added to the Penal code of the country. According to it the participation of Georgian citizens in illegal military formations outside the country, their training or calls for participation is considered a crime.
Later, the Deputy Head of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs Levan Izoria said that this law does not apply to those citizens who fight in Ukraine on the side of the official authorities.
